London firm Peters and Peters has training contract vacancies for Spring and September 2010 starts as well as 2011 and 2012.
Here are their recruitment details:
Trainee Solicitor Positions – 2010 onwards
Peters & Peters is a leading city practice, specialising in:
* Criminal fraud
* Commercial litigation, including international asset tracing work
* Regulatory matters
* Extradition and mutual legal assistance
* Corporate compliance
As a trainee you would gain experience in:
* Criminal fraud/regulatory work
* Civil litigation
* Non-contentious work (secondment)
Why choose Peters & Peters?
* Our outstanding reputation and market leading experts.
* Our fascinating work – you will play a key part as one of a team working on complex fraud cases and have direct contact with clients and counsel. You may, for example, be asked to assist in obtaining an urgent civil search and seizure order on behalf of a corporate claimant. We operate internationally and our solicitors travel extensively.
* We are a small, friendly firm, with a supportive culture. We value our trainees highly and make every effort fully to integrate them into the practice.
* We have an excellent retention rate – many of our partners trained here.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for trainees with very strong academic backgrounds, as much of our work is highly complex and innovative. We consider both law and non-law graduates and expect a minimum 2:1 degree. Fluency in at least one business-relevant foreign language is a definite bonus. Unlike trainees in some firms, you will have regular contact with partners and clients, many of whom are high-profile, from day one, so self-confidence and personal credibility is essential.
It’s a steep learning curve, so you’ll need drive, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and a sense of humour. Ours is very much a ‘people’ business, so you will need to demonstrate very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
The Training Contract
We are still accepting applications for Spring 2010 and September 2010, as well as for 2011 and 2012.
We are particularly interested in receiving applications from highly-qualified individuals who fully meet our criteria and have completed the LPC but, as a result of the recent economic downturn, have had previous offers revoked, suspended or deferred. *If you have applied before for 2010 entry, we regret that we cannot re-consider your application.
Please complete the trainee application form on our website and send it to Julie Beckwith, together with a covering letter. Please note that the trainee application form must be completed for your application to be considered.
