There are also alterative types of experience that will be viewed positively by legal recruiters:
- Pro bono:
- Law centres
- CAB
- Charities
- Work shadowing other legal professionals, for example district judges, barristers, etc
- Attending the courts – its possible to sit in the public galleries and follow cases
- Attend law firm open days
- Non-law related work experience – if this is something of substance or helps with your commercial awareness then this can sometimes be viewed as positively as legal work experience with a law firm
